A Health Partner!

It's Always Better In TWO!!

During my transition from junk food to health food, I was blessed to have someone that was going through what I was going through. Granted we were about to kill each other when we would get into our cravings for sugar and junk food, but we became each others wall.

My fiancee and I needed to find time to be better in tune with one another since we both felt that our school and jobs were taking up too much of our time to actually be with each other and have fun. So this whole eating healthy thing was a way for us to be closer and have a hobby together.

We both lost about 15 lbs each and extra time in our day to play with our two dogs and take them for daily walks. Our dogs really loved that. 🐶 🐶


Whether you are in a relationship that needs more attention or wanting to pursue a friendship, healthy eating and exercising can rekindle any form of relationship.

MY ENERGY SPIKE!

After my first couple of weeks of eating healthy and exercising for a good part of my day. And by that I mean I would run about a mile and a half and so some light weights, I started to see a difference in my body. My clothes fit a little loose and I had so much more energy throughout the day.

Before I started down this journey, I ate all the time (unhealthy foods)...okay for instance I would get fast food for breakfast since I was always running late to work. Then I only had a 30 minute lunch so I would drive to the nearest Whataburger to get a patty melt 😃 and for my dinner...well whatever I could find at home late at night. Not a very well balanced diet....right? THIS was my "AH HA" moment. I wanted to be more energized as opposed to coming home and just being LAZY and eating all the time.

So now I feel myself eating meals I prepare for lunch... waking up with enough time to have a balanced breakfast and choosing the right snacks throughout my day. SHOOT I even look forward for a run and that says a lot! 
This is me now! Hahaha Just Kidding!! This was me when I was about 12....Shoot I wish I looked like that.....
This was me during the 3 weeks after I started eating healthy. I was down 15 lbs and I felt great! So keep up what you are doing! Keep your healthy habits and be your own motivation!

Actual Meal Prep

Well guys time for our meal prep step by step: The Health Foods I use when I prep....

First and foremost, always pick foods that are lean meat. My choice of meats would be chicken, of course, and turkey meat. OK turkey meat is very tricky, if any of you have cooked with turkey meat you'll know what I mean.

Turkey meat has a very weird texture....if you let it thaw to much, you basically end up with pink slim,,,,YUCK! This has happened to me a numbers of time. Not through my own fault but my fiancee's! I told her, "Take out the meat to thaw so when I get home I can make stuffed turkey burgers." Uh yea....cut to 4 hours later, I come home, the meat is in a bowl of water puffed out... Needless to say I didn't make stuffed turkey burgers that night...instead I made meals for the rest of the week. And this is how I learned out to create my own meals.

After you decide what type of meats you prefer, you need to make sure that you have of course your greens and your carbs...i choose brown rice (the healthier choice haha) and my black means. As you can see I have corn as well.....and well that is just my personal preference...I love corn, BUT NO BUTTER! 

So there you have it,,,a weeks worth of food. You can eat them for lunch or dinner....shoot you can even have it for breakfast if you want. I've never tried them for breakfast but knock yourself out!

Eat Like A Healthy Pig

As the weeks go on your body starts to get use to all the healthy food and nutrients your body is getting.

The secret to eating healthy is eating A LOT!!!! Sure we are use to eating chips, popcorn and candy throughout our day however substituting  these snacks for a bag of carrots, apples and any kind of fruit allows the body to take the natural sugar they contain. We fill that need of a "sugar rush" with "good" sugar our body can burn off a lot quicker which in turn can help burn fat as well.

I'm not gonna lie, eating a snack every 4 to 5 hours makes you sound like a pig but when you start to see and feel your body changing it just makes you want to perfect these types of eating habits. And who knows maybe your might want to take a jog or take the stairs as a healthier choice physically.

First Day of a Healthy Breakfast

The first week of meal preps are the hardest. You have cravings of pizza, candy, fast food and cokes so you have to find meals that will replace those sugars and carbs. Unfortunately easier said that done. Who wakes up in the morning and says "woo I think I'll have kale for breakfast."? Like really? But in all honesty, sneaking in kale or some type of greens in your breakfast can boost that "pick me up" that you need to start the morning. For one thing, you will feel full but less bloated, if that makes any sense.
On my day of eating clean, my breakfast consisted of two eggs with a slice of bacon, avocado and a bit of lettuces. Kind of a weird mixture of breakfast and a side salad but it filled me up and gave me plenty of energy throughout my morning.
Don't be afraid to throw in some greens with your breakfast and I promise, little by little your body will thank you for it!
